CPS teachers of "critical thinkers" fail in critical thinking

COAST blog and newsletters readers have enjoyed weeks and weeks of outrageous e-mails using the official CPS e-mail system campaigning for the Cincinnati Public School Levy on last November's ballot.  You can read those stories here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here

But what strikes COAST as most remarkable is not that teachers, principals, and even the Superintendent and School Board would engage in a broad conspiracy to abuse tax dollars -- indeed that has become de rigueur for what the Enquirer refers to as "hyper-aware" educators avoiding misuse of taxpayer resources.

Rather, it's that of the hundreds and indeed thousands of teachers and supervisors receiving the illegal CPS e-mails, not one, not a single one of the recipients of the e-mails involving illegal solicitations, shakedowns, coordination, and sharing of student information blew the whistle on the behavior.

Not one person called the police.  Not one teacher called COAST.  Not one of the dozens and hundreds of recipients of the illegal e-mails thought for a minute to say "stop," "this is illegal," this is "wrong," "this is a violation of the COAST Agreement," "this is unfair," "this is an improper use of taxpayer resources," "this is an improper use of student data," "this is an improper use of school buildings," "this is an improper use of school equipment," "this is a violation of the public trust," or "this is an improper use of the kids."

And these are the "critical thinking" educators who are teaching the next generation of critical thinkers of Cincinnati.  Not one apparently thought to, or did, stand up and do the right thing.

Not one.

  1. That is because they don't think they are doing anything wrong. Remember, liberals live by different rules than the rest of us.

  2. Harsh. I have been enjoying each post, but I will stand up and say that this one is a blanket and dramatic attack on the staff of CPS. Give them a break. How is the entire staff to know what violates the Coast Agreement? People want to keep their jobs and stay in good graces. They would rather just delete the email and move on with their life. When word leaks that you are the bad egg, 'they' might not be able to legally fire you, but they will find a way to give you a horrible schedule of classes, move your room into a closet or straight up make your life a living hell. Come on guys, I’m a little disappointed by this one.

We follow the "living room" rule. Exhibit the same courtesy you would show guests in your home.
