The Oak Hills School levy failed, which it should have, as COAST received numerous reports from the District of misuse of tax dollars to support the pro-levy campaign leading up to the May election.
Thus, it was gratifying to see the voters in that district roundly reject the tax hike there, with 55% of the vote.
The vote in the Forest Hills district was more curious. There, big-spenders joined Tea Partiers in opposing the levy. The liberals contended that the levy was not sufficiently ambitious, wanting more money for a new mega-high school.
That levy also went down with 55% of the vote.
