Notice to prospective Cincinnati City Council candidates!

This is the year.

As with the GOP takeover of the Congress in 1994 and again in 2010, COAST is giving you advance notice that "this is the year" for moderates and conservatives to take over City Hall.

This is the year that a center-right majority can take control of Cincinnati City Council from the lunatics who have held six of those nine seats for the past two years, Qualls, Quinlivan, Seelbach, Simpson, Young and Thomas.

Average citizens and neighborhood leaders were awakened from their slumber by the Streetcar, jolted to attention by the ill-fated atrium project, and snapped into position by the plan to sell off Cincinnati's parking assets and part of its law enforcement function.

The well of support that previously existed for these jokers in Oakley, Bond Hill. Mt. Lookout, Clifton, College Hill and Hyde Park has evaporated.  The ground is fertile for reformers, those with more than a half an ounce of common sense, to seize control of the rudders of the ship of state that is adrift,

And as 2013 moves along, it will only get worse for them.  They will have a second budget in a year to balance (using their one-time monies from the sale of parking assets) and more bad news is coming on several fronts on the streetcar.

So, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.  2013 is going to be a heck of a ride.

COAST has declared it so.
