Boycott Government Motors?

COAST polls readers on whether to join

One way for consumers to protest the massive government subsidy of General Motors and its subsequent bankruptcy and sweetheart deals cut for the labor unions is for conservatives to boycott the new company. In doing so, those advocating limited government could both show their displeasure with this outrageous conduct of our government and at the same time help the new entity to fail more quickly.

Those advocating a boycott include Rush Limbaugh and Hugh Hewitt.

COAST ponders, should it join the boycott? Cast your vote to the right of this window. COAST will decide at its September membership meeting. Please only vote once.

  1. Whats done is done. Boycotting GM will change nothing and only hurt those still working there. It will serve no purpose and accomplish NOTHING.

  3. Yes! Once COAST throws it's weight behind the boycott I definitely see Obama and co's plans unraveling!

  4. While I am a long term GM fan, I don't like where the company is currently. GM has produced some fantastic power-trains, but offers nothing that excites me. Boycotting can make a point, but how many will then purchase cars from foreign makers. I understand many foreign cars are produced on American soil, but do any of the profits really benefit Americans?

  5. Boycott something that you can do something about. Boycotting GM will not reverse the Gov't loans already made.Boycott GM? For who? For What?

  7. The loss due to another failure of GM would be borne by...us!, since we as taxpayers have already bailed them out. How about boycotting senators and reps who voted for all the spending and bailouts by voting them out of office instead?
