Chabot Stands Firm Against Streetcar

As the Enquirer reported recently, Congressman Chabot continues his fight to cut off federal funding of Cincinnati's Streetcar Boondoggle.

Many supporters of the Streetcar argue that because a majority of Cincinnatians (they claim) support the streetcar, then it is therefore entitled to Federal Funds. This is possibly the most asinine argument every put forth. Even assuming their portrayal of the two ballot issues is correct, the voters of Cincinnati do not control federal spending. Federal spending is determined by Congress.

Thankfully, the voters of the First District have entrusted Steve Chabot to be their voice in Congress.

In just ten short days Congressman Chabot will be joined in Congress by Lt. Col. Dr. Brad Wenstrup. Like Chabot, the good doctor has been a vocal opponent of the Streetcar for years. Chabot and Wenstrup will lead on the budget by example - by cutting wasteful pork projects from their district in favor of real priorities like the Brent Spence Bridge project.

The fight to stop the Streetcar is far from over.
