America's Hard Right Turn

COAST congratulates member Rand Paul on his well deserved victory over establishment golden boy Trey Grayson in yesterday's Kentucky Republican senatorial primary race.

"I have a message from the tea party," said Paul at his victory speech. "We've come to take our government back." He added: "this tea party movement is a message to Washington that we are unhappy and we want things done differently.".

Former PA senator Arlen "RINO" Specter was never a real Republican, but his record finally caught up with him. Realizing he could not be reelected as a Republican, he switched to the Democratic party to try for a sixth term. They rejected him too, electing Joe Sestak to face Pat Toomey in the general election.

President Obama campaigned for Specter and three others, all of whom were defeated. Fiscal conservatives who ran or governed as such did very well.

  1. Hard right turn? What a laugh! Among the four special elections since Obama was elected, Democrats have won a seat Republicans had held since the 1850s (NY-23, an R+1 district), held Kirsten Gillibrand's tough seat (NY-20, a Republican R+2 district), and won yesterday's contest in the only district in the country that McCain won after Kerry had carried it in 2004 (PA-12, an R+1 district). In other words, all three of those were Republican districts, yet Republicans weren't able to reclaim them in this particularly toxic environment. PA-12 wasn't even close! Those are the low hanging fruit, and the GOP still cannot make a dent into the Democratic advantage. And each-not both but EACH of the Dem Senate candidates in the Kentucky primary received more votes than Paul received. So much for that teabagger wave that was supposed to sweep Kentucky for Paul. Turnout was in fact one of the lowest on recent record in the Commonwealth, even by off year primary standards.

And then there's that new Associated Press-GfK poll released Saturday that shows the American People want Democrats to control Congress after this fall's elections, a shift from April. Nice try at spinning this as positive for the GOP.

And your racist teabagger candidate started to implode today. The GOP is already pushing Rand under a bus. Sorry, the GOP want be taking the House or the Senate in November.

  2. Make that " Sorry, the GOP won't be taking the House or the Senate in November"

    Sorry for the typo.

New Jersey Governor's race - Republican beats Obama endorsed candidate in a State that Obama won

Massachusetts Senate race - Republican beats Obama endorsed candidate in a State that Obama won.

Um, yeah, you're right. Keep drinking the koolaid. We'll keeop winning elections.

  4. It's not all about Obama wingnuts. Of course you tried to make it about Obama in NY-23 & PA-12, two hardcore repub districts and got your asses handed to you. There will be no teabagger surge to save you. The teabaggers are a teeny tiny minority and represent the far right extremists, birthers, birchers and racists. And Racist Ran Paul fall down and go boom today. Scott Brown stabbed you in the back and voted for HCR and Wall street Reform and said that he's not a teabagger. HA-HA! Buh-Bye GOP majority.

  5. And Jason Gloyd, we all know that you are posting as The Provost. Have you managed to find new housing yet, or are you out on the streets?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Actually no, I'm not posting as anyone else, I'm trying to get you all to play nice but that seems a bit difficult.

  7. Ron Paul? I'm way more racist than Ron Paul!

Did I mention that I hate Mexicans too? If they're brown keep them down!

    ReplyDelete
  8. He's the gift that keeps on giving because he just can't keep his mouth closed. Racist Ran Paul today: "Obama's BP Comments Sounds Really Un-American." Maybe the best part was "sometimes accidents happen." It has to be the best quote of the month on the BP oil spill catastrophe. And what could be more un-American than criticizing a British company for wrecking the entire Gulf Coast?

Teabagger Ran Paul is toast. So much for your hard right turn.

  9. This keeps getting more schadenfreude-alicious by the hour. Now Teabagging Racist Rand Paul has cancelled his Meet The Press appearence for Sunday citing 'exhaustion'. What a thin skinned coward. If Racist Rand is 'exhausted' after 3 days as the republican nominee then how is he going to campaign for the next 5 months, or fight for the Citizens of Kentucky?

It's all over for Racist Rand The Tired Teabagging Coward.

  10. Cincycapell - please go home and feed your wife and stay off of the blogs.

  11. Cincy Capell's wife is a disgusting pigMay 22, 2010 at 12:08 PM

True schadenfreude is knowing that Cincycapell has to go home to that enormous pig of a wife at the end of every day.

  13. Who said anything about Greg Matusak? CincyCapell's wife is a fat pig, and that has nothing to do with Greg.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Greg Matuzak. Caleb Faux. Jim Meeker. Keep guessing wingnuts. You have no clue. I'll give you a hint: I live in 45238. I own a home. And I pay my bills, unlike members of COAST.

You still have no clue, do you.

  15. CincyCapell drives the local righties nuts. They obviously don't have any idea who the guy is. But I do- Richard Brockelmann.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Now it's Richard Brockelmann. Another wingnut heard from. Guess again teabagger.

  17. Cincycapell is having a nice conversation with himself. I almost feel bad interrupting it.

  18. Did COAST really know anything about Rand Paul before supporting him, or are they just shocked and wondering why they were so stupid to endorse him?
I mean really, when are you guys going to realize that knee-jerk ideology doesn't really work out when you apply it to real life situations.
I don't want some Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin, foot surgeon, eye doctor, doesn't know anything about governing and thinks government is a problem at its core, trying to govern.
I would actually prefer someone who is 'professorial' and knows something about the greater, bigger world out there and knows politics, knows how to play the game, and is smarter and shrewder than anybody around.
Tired of your 'gee-shucks' candidates, please try endorsing someone legitimate.

  19. Here's another hint. My 45238 locale is centered in my mommy's basement, far away from the gorging mouth of my morbidly obese wife.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Poor little Jeffy still can't find a date.

Poor little Jason lost his home.

Poor little Marky can't pay his bills.

I pay all of my bills, including the mortgage on my home in Covedale, 45238. My 'mommy' lives in NKY. Nice try wingnuts. Guess again.

  21. I'm a frustrated homosexual who dreams of dating one of those fine COAST men. Instead I'm stuck with my morbidly obese pig of a wife in a joyless marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jeffy, I'm not the one who belongs to the Log Cabin Republicans, you are. Not that there's anything wrong with that.........

    ReplyDelete
  23. CincyCapell, you are the only repressed homosexual around here who dreams of dating an eligible COAST man. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Funny that the TOASTer is the one who seems to have thoughts of dating men on his mind. His postings are a regular freudian slip. The TOASTers are so completely defeated that they can no longer even engage in debate. All these defeated wingnuts can do is hurl insults worthy of a 14 year old.

    ReplyDelete
  25. HA! You TOAST losers haven't a clue, do you? Keep guessing boys. Come on, name names if you can, which we all know you can't. Meanwhile, I know who each and every one of you are, where you live and work. I could be standing next to you 3 days a week and you would never know it. In fact, I see at least one of you on a very regular basis. i point and laugh when you aren't watching.

  26. Can we try to clean this up a little? I don't particularly want to delete everything, but we would again ask for a little civility from all sides. I get it those in favor of the street car think we are horrible since we feel it will be a waste of money of epic proportions. Why don't you try to convince us how great it will be instead of hoping everyone can guess your real identity. Those opposed to the street car, let them have their fun and try to keep it above board.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You trolley losers have been wrong about my identity the entire time. Keep guessing. Mark Miller? Stephan Louis? Jason Gloyd? Jeff Capell? Chris Finney?

All wrong, wrong, wrong. I'll give you all a hint though. I do not have a big fat disgusting wife like some anonymous posters on here like CincyCapell. Come on Cincy Capell, name names.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just as I thought, no clue. See you soon, TOASTers.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey TOASTy, you're the one claiming to know who I am, that I have a 'fat wife' and that I don't actually live in the City and/or in Covedale, so how about it mouth? Name names, don't try and dance around it. You can't.

  30. Where's David Ben?May 24, 2010 at 2:20 PM

Shouldn't David Ben be on here excoriating COAST stalker CincyCapell for hiding behind an anonymous screen name like a coward?
Oh wait, he only demands the names of anti-streetcar folks.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Tell everyone who I am TOASTer. And when are the TOAST deadbeats going to start paying your bills anyway? My 'fat' wife makes more money than Miller (with his garnished bank accounts), Gloyd (and his repo'ed home) & Capell (the dateless loser) combined.

    ReplyDelete
  32. CincyCapell, I know that your fat wife EATS more than Miller, Gloyd, and Capell combined.

  34. Morbidly Obese in 45238May 24, 2010 at 5:02 PM

I'm sure Jeff Capell is all torn up that he doesn't get to come home to this every night:

    http://media.photobucket.com/image/fat%20women/sexymexi6630/obese.jpg?o=100

Enjoy your lovely bride CincyCapell. She's a true beauty. The rest of us will enjoy the schadenfreude.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I can see why CincyCapell is so physically attracted to Jeff Capell. Compared to his morbidly obese pig of a wife, even other GUYS start looking hot!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jeff is obsessed with men. He keeps posting homoerotic comment. Not that there's anything wrong with that......

    ReplyDelete
  37. The truly funny thing is that the Coast boys obviously have no idea who this CincyCapell character is, if he even has a wife let alone if she is in fact fat. Meanwhile CincyCapell knows who all of the Coast players are, where thay live and work. Anyone else smell a COASTFAIL?

    ReplyDelete
  38. The truly funny thing is that not a single one of you losers have any idea who Bris Chortz or Bim Turke is. Keep guessing losers. You're waaaaay off.

What's even funnier is when Cincycapell claims to know every one of the COASTers and then fails to name Bim Turke's true identity.

What's even funnier than that is how in all of his responses CincyCapell never actually denies that he has a fat ugly wife. She is so heinous.

    Keep guessing trolley losers!!!

I'd like to think Mark Miller and Jason Gloyd are too busy to enforce this rule these days. I'd like to think it's because they're too busy trying to pay their mortgage and tuition to St. X.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Actually unlike some of you I don't have the time to be on here all day. I did ask everyone a couple of days ago to clean this up and it seems to have gotten worse. Of course if i leave everything up then I'm not following the rules, but if i take it all down them I'm a poor crying COAST baby who can't take it. I would appreciate it if all of the personal attacks would stop but I highly doubt it with so many posting anonymously. We have certainly gone far beyond the living room rule. I will say for the most part very few of you actually know what you're talking about though.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And if any of you who are named in the personal attacks would like for something to be taken down, feel free to contact me and I will offer you that courtesy. The majority are directed at Mark, Jeff Capell and me. Mark and I are both admins so we could take that stuff down but if Jeff reads this and would like those off then he can contact me. The rest are pretty much just nonsense and made up names.

  42. Jason, if posts violate your rules they should be waxed. No apology has to be made for it, and I'm sure most intelligent readers would appreciate not having to cut through the clutter to discuss the issues.
